The Big Story
Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, died on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral. She has died peacefully, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years in which she witnessed enormous social change.
Most recently, in May 2022, the late Queen announced new legislation affecting financial services and the FinTech industry at the State Opening of Parliament with the traditional Queen’s Speech. Among these, the Financial Services and Markets Bill and the Online Safety Bill, both of which focus on APP fraud and the Data Reform Bill, which will work to reform GDPR and reduce the burden on businesses.
We are saddened by the news and our deepest condolences go to the British royal family as we remember Her Majesty The Queen’s commitment to service.
