ChinaPayments, Novatti, Alipay, BPAYMelbourne-based digital banking and payments company Novatti announced that its China-focused cross-border payments platform – ChinaPayments, has been added directly to the main page of the app of Alipay. This will enable Alipay’s users to directly pay their Australian bills.

ChinaPayments’ platform was launched in early 2018 enabling Chinese residents, including students, to pay Australian BPAY bills using Chinese currency. These bills include education fees, utilities, rent, council rates, and phone bills.

Peter Cook, Managing Director, Novatti elucidated, “Novatti has enjoyed a constructive partnership with Alipay, a global major third-party mobile and online payments platform. Our close co-operation has led to the integration of ChinaPayments into the Alipay platform and validates our strategy of working with tier one providers.

“This partnership provides an innovative solution that enables Chinese residents to pay their bills easily, and enables many Australian billers to improve their cashflow through on-time payment. It has also led to an immediate increase in consumer enquiries and social media interaction on ChinaPayments and ultimately more transactions.”

Novatti apprised that over the past year, over 500 BPAY billers have received payments through the ChinaPayments platform. Being included on Alipay’s app homepage will enable Alipay users to enjoy the convenience of easily making these payments within the application.
