Danske Bank rolls out payments from accounts with other banks in mobile app

Danske Bank has announced the launch of a new mobile solution that enables its customers to transfer money through their mobile banking app from payment accounts that the customers have with other banks. The new solution is carried out via the Nordic API Gateway platform, which has combined access to all Nordic banks’ data in one place.
“In a fast-moving world that is headed towards more openness and transparency, our strategy is to support our customers with the best possible tools to handle their everyday finances.”
“We’ve been working closely with Nordic API Gateway since 2017, and we’re happy to continue developing the partnership, giving our customers a huge flexibility as they’re now able to make payments and transfers between their own accounts across several different banks. For us, it’s all about making it easier for customers to gain a full financial overview – no matter how many banks they have,” said Line Munkholm Haukrogh, head of digital banking at Danske Bank.
Founded in 1871, Danske Bank is a Danish bank. It was founded as Den Danske Landmandsbank, Hypothek- og Vexelbank i Kjøbenhavn (The Danish Farmers’ Bank, Mortgage and Exchange Bank of Copenhagen). Headquartered in Copenhagen, it is one of the largest banks in Denmark and a major retail bank in the northern European region with over 5 million retail customers.
Recently, in July, Nordic API Gateway announced that it has extended its partnership with Danske Bank in a bid to enable customers to pay from other banks within the latter’s mobile banking app.
