abn amroABN AMRO has teamed up with Charly Cares in a bid to launch a pilot for providing babysitters with instant access to their earnings immediately after they finished their jobs. According to the company stated that gig workers in the Netherlands are forced to wait days if not weeks to receive their earnings, while they would have received their money right away if not working for a platform.

“If a gig-worker is not paid instantly, they may not be so motivated to do the job”, said Edwin van Bommel, ABN AMRO Chief Innovation Officer. “By eliminating the waiting time for their pay-out, we are removing a possible obstacle for workers to take advantage of the platform economy.”

The new service aims to offer gig workers and their platforms with instant access to earning for services delivered. It will leverage ABN AMRO’s payment technology that allows for instant transfer of funds to any bank account with a fast onboarding process.

Xander Koenen, co-founder of Charly Cares said, “We are excited to be collaborating with ABN AMRO. A solution to this problem is expected to result in better babysitter satisfaction and increase in productivity’’.

Recently, ABN AMRO announced the sale of Moneyou’s tech platform ‘ Moneyou Go’ to Dutch FinTech TM-Pro. The sale of Moneyou Go will enable TM-Pro to combine its operations and software activities for facilitating the offering of a unified open banking solution to the financial services market. The activities will continue under the TM-Pro brand.
