Worldline partners with Ingenico to strengthen market position in payment services

worldlineWorldline today announced that it has teamed up with Ingenico with an aim to enhance its payment services and to compete with international payment leaders. The company stated that the collaboration is expected to offer merchants with improved solutions and services through integrated payment solutions, advanced technology, innovation capacities and an extended global footprint.

Gilles Grapinet, Chairman and CEO of Worldline, said, “This is a very exciting milestone for Worldline, specifically designed to decidedly reinforce the value proposition of our businesses. Having the scale and now global capabilities, we have reshaped our group entirely in order to support, now more than ever, our clients, merchants and banks in particular, enabling them to rely on state-of-the-art electronic payment services to accelerate their own growth as well as their digital transformation strategy.”

“In doing so, we are more than ever committed to contributing to the sustainable growth of the societies we operate in, while remaining at the highest possible level of social and environmental responsibility. Despite the difficult times we are all facing at the moment, I have never been this confident in the group’s potential and future and in its 20,000 employees.”

Worldline stated that it will strengthen product innovation and reinforce its investment capabilities with new domains including personal payments terminal, new payment in-store, social & voice commerce, new payment platforms, data services, digital ticketing, etc. The combination with Ingenico will also increase Worldline’s payment volumes, widening opportunities for partnerships with financial institutions in addition to 1,200 financial institutions that the company currently works with, processing c. 5.6 billion acquiring transactions each year.

Recently, Worldline and PSA Payment Services Austria GmbH have extended their partnership for a further five years with an aim to continue benefiting Austria’s digital payment system. Worldline will continue to process all transactions made using Austrian debit cards on PSA’s behalf.
