Worldline launches VABOX to enable payment voice alerts for merchants

Worldline, a global leader in payments services launched VABOX – Voice Alert Box, to facilitate instant payment voice alerts for merchants in India.
The sleek, compact and robust device is currently being launched by Worldline partner banks namely Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India and others. In the initial phase, Worldline India will be rolling out half a million devices that will prompt instant voice alerts for QR-code-based payments.
Worldline VABOX provides crisp and clear alerts that ensure wider hearing range across the entire store. It supports multiple regional languages that aims at enhancing adoption among larger merchant and customer base alike.
Speaking at the launch, Ramesh Narasimhan, Chief Executive Officer – Worldline India said, “In our endeavour to enhance merchant experience and aid mass adoption of digital payments among small merchants and retailers, we are thrilled to launch VABOX with six financial institutions. VABOX is set to cater to the existing QR merchant base of over 250 million as well as its growing numbers in future. VABOX overcomes the challenges of visual impairment and encourages inclusivity among merchants for greater financial inclusion. In the first six months, we plan to roll out half a million devices and partner with more such financial institutions.”
The device comes with a sophisticated ARM cortex INR 500 MHz processor, a powerful 2000 mAh battery, digital display, essential 4G and WiFi communication, an enhanced memory and can be customised for brands too.
