Canadian online investment management service provider Wealthsimple today appointed Caroline Murphree as the new CEO for Europe. Murphree will be replacing former CEO Toby Triebel, who will remain as an adviser to the business for a period of time. She will be responsible for leading the company’s strategy and operations for both the UK and European business.

“I’m really proud of everything we’ve accomplished over the past four years in establishing our presence as a competitive digital investing option in the UK. It’s exciting to see Wealthsimple move into the company’s next phase of growth under Caroline’s leadership and continue on its mission to make investing easy and accessible for everyone,” said Toby Triebel.

Murphree joined Wealthsimple in August 2018 and has led the company’s operations and growth. Previously, she worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company for five years.

“We have big ambitions as a company and the right team, strategy and growth in place to help us deliver on our goal of helping people secure a stronger financial future. I look forward to leading the company as we remain focused on building out our core investment product and growing our business-to-business offering in the UK and Europe,” said Caroline Murphree.

Financial company Wealthsimple offers investment products and advice that are accessible and affordable. Clients can sign up and get invested in a low-cost, globally diversified portfolio in less than ten minutes with unlimited access to human advice.

Wealthsimple currently manages over £4 billion in assets globally, and more than 1 million people use Wealthsimple products in the UK, Canada and the US.
