Vodafone Qatar has acquired Maktapp through its subsidiary Infinity FinTech Ventures, as part of its strategy to expand beyond telecom services into FinTech and business software for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2014 by Saleh Al-Mansouri, Maktapp offers a cloud-based platform that helps businesses manage payments, invoicing, and day-to-day operations. Its FinTech arm, Fatora, focuses on simplifying payment collection and financial workflows for SMEs across the Middle East.

The acquisition will allow Vodafone Qatar to integrate Maktapp’s capabilities into its broader digital ecosystem, combining connectivity, payments, and operational tools into a single platform. This is expected to enhance its value proposition for SMEs by offering more streamlined and integrated services.

Maktapp has previously received backing from institutions such as Qatar Development Bank, Qatar FinTech Hub, and 500 Global, reflecting strong regional support for FinTech innovation.

Vodafone Qatar has been actively building its presence in financial services, including the launch of its licensed e-wallet, iPay. The addition of Maktapp strengthens its FinTech portfolio and supports its ambition to deliver end-to-end digital solutions for businesses.

The move also reflects a broader trend in the region, where telecom operators are increasingly entering FinTech and enterprise software segments to diversify revenue streams and tap into growing demand for digital financial services.

By bringing payments, invoicing, and operational tools under one umbrella, Vodafone Qatar aims to simplify business management for SMEs while reinforcing its position as a comprehensive digital services provider.
