Visa has partnered with TikTok to launch a debit card tailored for content creators in the United Kingdom, aiming to support the country’s growing creator economy.

The Creator Card is designed to help individuals better manage income earned through TikTok LIVE, where users receive virtual gifts that can be converted into earnings. Many creators currently rely on personal bank accounts, which can make it difficult to separate business and personal finances.

Lucy Demery, SVP, Head of Visa Commercial Solutions, Europe, said, “We are incredibly excited to launch the UK Creator Card with TikTok to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs in the digital economy. This launch is designed to give creators faster access to income from TikTok LIVE, brand partnerships, and platform payouts, so they can spend, plan and reinvest in their business straight away.”

According to Visa research, 86% of creator-led businesses are self-funded, while 49% report experiencing late payments. Irregular income flows, often linked to platform payout cycles, can create cash flow challenges and make it harder for creators to manage expenses or reinvest in their work.

The new card and linked business account aim to address these issues by enabling faster access to earnings and allowing creators to spend funds as soon as they are available. This is intended to reduce delays associated with traditional payout processes.

Paula D’Urbano Country Manager, TikTok LIVE UK, Ireland & Baltics, said, “TikTok LIVE is creating the next generation of digital entrepreneurs, transforming the way creators and audiences connect in real-time. By partnering with Visa, we’re giving the LIVE community even more ways to manage their rewards – helping creators to turn their passion into a sustainable career.”

The launch comes as the creator economy continues to expand globally. Visa estimates there are around 200 million creators worldwide, with the sector projected to reach $500 billion by 2027. Many creators operate multiple revenue streams, including brand partnerships, affiliate marketing and service promotion.

The initiative builds on Visa’s broader efforts to support creators as small businesses within the digital economy.
