Unzer appoints Katrin Stark as new Chief Financial Officer
By Gloria Methri
Unzer, a company providing payment and commerce solutions, has appointed Katrin Stark as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As of March 1, 2023, Stark has been leading Unzer’s Finance department – including the teams responsible for Financial Planning and Analytics, Treasury, and Accounting.
Her appointment strengthens Unzer’s management team as the company continues to support businesses across Europe with unified commerce solutions.
Stark studied and researched Computer Science in Germany and the USA and received her doctorate in Computer Vision/Machine Learning. As a former management consultant at McKinsey, she took up positions as a divisional board member at Commerzbank and as managing director at Deutsche Bank and Silicon Valley Bank in Germany.
At Orderbird, she has been responsible for the company’s operational performance as COO and for developing the payment business and licensing process with BaFin.
“We are excited that Katrin has joined Unzer and that we could win yet another top manager from the payment sector for our team,” said Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer. “Katrin brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise in technology and finance and she is well familiar with both the corporate and the start-up world. She is a natural fit for our management team and I am looking forward to working together.”
Stark said, “Unzer is an outstanding company that offers integrated payment and software solutions to help merchants empower their customers. With its holistic product offering and talented team, Unzer is well-positioned and a strong partner for retailers across Europe. I am really excited to help drive the company forward and achieve its mission.”
Stark succeeds Jacob von Ingelheim, who recently took over the newly created role of Chief Risk and Transformation Officer (CRTO). Von Ingelheim will focus on Unzer’s transition to become a unified company with a unique commerce and software offering in the European market.
