By Edlyn Cardoza
UniTeller, an international cross-border and remittance payments processor based in the United States, has partnered with Singapore-based global payments network Thunes to expand its services in over 20 markets globally, including major emerging markets in Africa and the Asia Pacific.
Given the growing demand for digital payment capabilities in emerging markets, it is more important than ever for industry players to promote market efficiency and expand user access to a broad range of digital financial services.
The partnership with Thunes brings together the networks of two significant payments processors, increasing the accessibility of digital payment channels for users in the selected markets through account deposits, e-wallets or both. The partnership adds account deposit service with 552 banks and e-wallet service with 28 operators to UniTeller’s network, including Africa and the Asia Pacific.
“Our partnership with Thunes marks an important milestone as we strive towards improving the access of communities across emerging markets by expanding our technology solutions in Africa and Asia Pacific”, said Alberto Guerra, Chief Executive Officer of UniTeller.
