Tink, Europe’s leading open banking platform, has appointed Tom Pope to lead its UK office.

Joining Tink in June 2021 as Head of Payments and Platforms, Tom will now lead both the London office and the global payments business for the open banking platform. Before Joining Tink, Tom ran product strategy and new product management for FIS and was Head of Growth and Commercialisation for Worldpay.

At the same time, Tink has also promoted Tasha Chouhan to UK & IE Banking Lead at Tink. Tasha joined Tink in June 2020 from Starling Bank, where she was Head of Business Development for Banking Services, having previously been a Commercial Lead at Fiserv.

Currently, live in 18 markets, Tink serves more than 300 financial institutions across Europe, including NatWest, American Express, Paypal, ABN AMRO and BNP Paribas. Tink enables customers to access aggregated financial data, initiate payments, enrich transactions, verify account ownership, and build personal finance management tools through one API.

Tom Pope, UK Lead and Head of Payments and Platforms at Tink, said: “Open banking had a phenomenal year in 2021, with millions of consumers discovering the superior user experiences open banking can enable. Whether faster and more secure payments, better lending decisions, or accelerated account opening, it’s exciting to see consumers embracing the services we help our partners build. Tink is experiencing huge growth in the UK and more widely across Europe, and we are excited to continue to partner with leading banks, merchants and PSPs to increase innovation in financial services.”

Recently, IBS Intelligence reported that Tink had announced the launch of ‘Income Check’ in the UK, a service that streamlines income verification using open banking technology.
