The Texas-based credit union, which serves more than 150,000 members, expanded its use of Alkami’s digital banking solutions after migrating from its previous provider. The initiative formed part of a broader strategy to modernise member experiences, improve operational efficiency, and create a scalable foundation for future innovation.

Since implementing Alkami’s Digital Banking Platform, Texans Credit Union has adopted additional solutions, including MANTL Onboarding & Account Opening, Alkami’s software development kit (SDK), and integrations from the company’s fintech ecosystem. These tools enabled the credit union to enhance digital banking services, streamline onboarding, and introduce new capabilities across money movement, fraud prevention, mobile deposit, and member service functions.

The credit union also developed My Texans Hub using Alkami’s SDK, giving members easier access to account and relationship information while reducing support requests.

According to the case study, the digital transformation delivered measurable results. Active digital banking users increased by 42%, while the institution’s mobile banking application achieved a 4.8-star App Store rating. Member satisfaction also improved significantly, with the credit union’s Net Promoter Score rising from 73.6 to 89.4.

Mike McWethy, Executive Vice President at Texans Credit Union, said,“Alkami gave us more than a new digital banking platform. It gave us a long-term partner and the infrastructure to create the experiences members need to manage and advance their financial lives.”

Texans further strengthened its onboarding process through the deployment of MANTL, which connected application, decision-making, funding, and digital banking capabilities into a single workflow. Following implementation, online account openings doubled during the first month. Average account opening time fell to approximately 5.7 minutes, while in-branch account opening became up to five times faster.

The institution also generated more than 1,200 applications and nearly $11.5 million in deposits within the first six weeks of rolling out its in-branch MANTL experience.

Benjamin Conant, Chief Product Officer at Alkami, said, “Texans Credit Union demonstrates the compounding value of treating a platform conversion as the foundation for a broader growth strategy.”

The case study highlights how credit unions are increasingly using integrated digital banking platforms and fintech partnerships to improve customer engagement, accelerate account acquisition, and support long-term growth strategies.
