Sopra Banking Software, the partner to over 1,500 financial institutions worldwide, has opened its new office in Douala, Cameroon. The company aims to increase its local team by 50 percent by 2025.
Presently, Sopra Banking Software has more than 1,000 employees in five countries in Africa. The company is looking to grow its presence on the continent in the years to come with a focus on developing human capital and local recruitment of freshly graduated Africans.
To strengthen its presence in the country, Sopra Banking Software inaugurated a new office in Douala on March 10th. The office is in the heart of Bonanjo, Douala’s bustling business district. The space includes a relaxation area for employees, a restaurant, a training room, and collaborative workspaces.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Cameroon with the inaugural of our new office. We believe that the African market holds enormous perspective, and we are committed to supporting our clients in the region as they navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with growth and change,” said Eric Pasquier, Chairman at Sopra Banking Software.
Present in Cameroon for nearly 40 years, the company is at the heart of the activities of more than half of the banks and financial institutions in the country. The opening of this new office confirms the company’s growth strategy in the region and its local presence in Cameroon, to be closer to its clients, and to provide them with the necessary solutions to meet the challenges related to their digital transformation and operational performance.
