Ripple expands prime brokerage partnership with Brevan Howard
By Divya Shah
Ripple has expanded its relationship with global alternative investment manager Brevan Howard, with Ripple Prime set to provide multi-asset prime broking, clearing and financing services to funds managed by the firm.
The expanded agreement highlights growing institutional demand for integrated prime broking solutions that span both traditional and digital asset markets within a regulated framework. Through the partnership, Brevan Howard will gain access to Ripple Prime’s unified platform, which is designed to streamline operations, improve capital efficiency and support investment activities across multiple asset classes.
The move reflects a broader trend among institutional investors seeking consolidated infrastructure that combines custody, financing, execution and clearing services across traditional and digital markets.
Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said the agreement demonstrates growing demand for next-generation prime servicesBrevan Howard and validates Ripple’s position as a provider of institutional-grade infrastructure across traditional and digital asset classes.
As digital assets become increasingly integrated with mainstream financial markets, asset managers are looking for enterprise-grade platforms capable of supporting cross-asset investment strategies.
Alan McGroarty, Group COO of Brevan Howard, said the convergence of traditional and digital markets is increasing the need for institutional-quality digital asset infrastructure. He noted that Ripple’s platform is expected to provide greater operational efficiency and capital optimisation for the firm’s investment teams.
The expanded relationship builds on Brevan Howard’s existing support for Ripple. Funds managed by affiliates of Brevan Howard previously participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment round in 2025, underscoring the investment manager’s confidence in Ripple’s long-term growth strategy and digital asset infrastructure ambitions.
From a FinTech and market infrastructure perspective, the partnership reflects the continued evolution of the prime brokerage landscape. Dominated by large investment banks, prime services are increasingly being extended to support digital assets, creating demand for platforms that can manage liquidity, financing, collateral and settlement across multiple markets through a single operating environment.
