Revolut looks to hire CCO to drive platform services

European challenger Revolut is hiring a Chief Commercial Officer as part of a push to build a department that will provide large merchants with platform services.
In a LinkedIn post, Revolut states that the person will be responsible for the commercial strategy and development of the department through sales and marketing to drive business growth and market sale.
The FinTech plans on building a department of over 50 sales professionals that let by the CCO will target medium and large merchants in order to generate upwards of $100 million in annual sales.
Insiders told news page Sifted, who first reported on the CCO search, that targeting merchants is a key part of Revolut’s plan to grow a full-stack financial platform. The in-app e-commerce solution will allow retailers such as Amazon to offer goods and services to Revolut’s retail and business customers.
Reportedly, Revolut would be earning a commission on the sales or transactions and offer discounts to its users, building on the current rewards system offered in the app.
In October, Revolut enlisted digital assets securing platform Fireblocks to provide wallet and network infrastructure built on multi-party computation for new crypto services and secure payment railways.
Its Singapore arm has also partnered with SNACK by Income to incorporate lifestyle-based insurance offerings, providing increased flexibility and boosting customer empowerment in money management.
