QNB launches local payment gateway in Qatar

QNB Group, a financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, announced the launch of the new QNB Payment Gateway, the first local payment gateway in Qatar.
The portal is considered one of the latest solutions for completing electronic card payments, which aims to provide a smooth and secure payment method that allows local merchants to complete all their operations with ease, as it allows all customers to pay online using credit cards, prepaid cards, and debit cards (QPay).
Adel Ali Al-Maliki, Senior Executive Vice President of Retail Banking Services at QNB Group, said, “We are pleased to announce the launch of the QNB Payment Gateway as one of the strategic projects that is consistent with our vision to provide the latest technologies and innovative payment solutions to our merchants. This gateway aims to Facilitating and securing electronic transactions for customers and merchants, by providing an innovative platform to keep pace with the ongoing digitization process in the payments sector, in line with our sustainable strategy that aims to reduce cash payments in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
The new payment gateway will provide many services such as electronic invoices, local and international digital wallets, online acceptance of QNB loyalty points, and online installment payment plans that can be used by merchants.
Kika Pourkarimi, Group Executive Vice President of Consumer Cards and Payments, said, “We launched this portal with the aim of meeting the requirements of a wide range of small and medium enterprises, government institutions, retailers, hospitality companies, services, food and beverages, and financial services. Among the advantages that The portal offers the ability to design and modify the payment page to suit the company’s brand and comply with the merchant’s requirements, which reflects to the customer the security of payment operations.”
