Prometeo

Prometeo, has launched of Agentic Banking, a transformative infrastructure layer enabling large language models (LLMs) and other AI agents to autonomously execute real-world financial operations.

With this, Prometeo becomes the first infrastructure provider in the region to render financial services fully operable and interpretable by AI. Through a sophisticated architecture that integrates its API network, an intelligent access protocol, and conversational interfaces, Agentic Banking allows AI to perform tasks such as payments, account validation, and treasury operations with complete traceability and compliance.

“With Agentic Banking, Prometeo is not just building for the future, we’re enabling it,” said Rodrigo Tumaian, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Prometeo. “We’ve created the first infrastructure layer where artificial intelligence can securely access and interact with financial systems. Where there used to be hard-coded workflows, now prompts drive secure, structured actions in real time.”

Agentic Banking builds on Prometeo’s robust API infrastructure, which connects to over 1,200 financial institutions across 11 countries. The platform introduces two additional layers that ensure secure and compliant AI interaction. The MCP, or Model Context Protocol, governs AI interactions with financial data and operations while maintaining full regulatory compliance. The Agentic Interface System connects AI agents with end users via channels such as WhatsApp, web portals, and enterprise systems, enabling conversational finance and organisational-grade automation.

This architecture represents a major leap forward for Latin America. While global markets embrace the era of intelligent agents, much of the region remains underprepared for machine-to-system interaction. Prometeo’s Agentic Banking addresses this gap, empowering AI to operate securely and efficiently across diverse financial networks.

“Latin America has the talent and demand to lead in AI-powered finance, but it needs the infrastructure to match,” said Ximena Aleman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Prometeo. “Agentic Banking closes that gap by providing AI with secure, real-time access to the financial system across the region.”
