Software-only point of sale (SoftPoS) FinTech phos has announced the appointment of a Chief Technology Officer, hiring Kristiyan Shahinyan as part of its growth strategy.
Shahinyan brings more than 15 years’ experience in software development and joins phos from SolarEdge Technologies, a global leader in smart energy technology, where he was Team Lead and in charge of some of the company’s biggest software product programmes.
Prior to this, Shahinyan spent over ten years working as a Developer and Project Manager at ComSoft, a computer software company specialising in hardware systems, information services and systems integration. His focus was on governance and the banking industry.
Commenting on the appointment, Shahinyan said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the phos team at what is such an exciting time for the company. As a pioneer in softPOS technology, phos is uniquely positioned to provide contactless payment solutions and meet the growing demand for touch-free experiences in the market, meaning more revenue for merchants and greater convenience for customers.”
Brad Hyett, phos CEO, added: “Kristiyan’s appointment marks a key milestone in phos’ growth strategy and we’re pleased to welcome him on board as CTO. A trusted expert in software development, Kristiyan will take the development of our innovative solution to the next level, as we continue our mission to help more businesses take payments directly on their phone than ever before.”
Earlier this month, Phos expanded its partnership with Mastercard to boost its ‘Tap on Phone’ offering.
