PayTabs to acquire Amazon Payments Services’ MENA operations
By Divya Shah
Saudi Arabia-based PayTabs Group has agreed to acquire Amazon Payment Services’ payments operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in a transaction valued at more than $100 million.
Approved by both parties, the deal will see Amazon Payment Services’ MENA operations integrated into PayTabs, expanding the FinTech company’s scale, processing capabilities, and market presence across the region.
The acquisition strengthens PayTabs’ position as a leading payments infrastructure provider in MENA, supported by its end-to-end platform that includes payment processing, automated switching, and payout solutions.
Founded in Saudi Arabia, PayTabs has spent years building banking partnerships, securing regulatory licences and investing in AI-driven payment infrastructure to support businesses across regional markets.
The company said its investments have enabled it to develop a broad payments ecosystem designed to facilitate digital and cross-border commerce. By bringing Amazon Payment Services’ regional operations under its umbrella,
PayTabs is expected to enhance its ability to deliver integrated payment solutions while expanding its reach in a market experiencing rapid growth in digital transactions.
PayTabs expects customer and operational continuity to remain a key focus during the integration process, with minimal disruption anticipated. The combined business is also expected to offer faster merchant onboarding and stronger local compliance capabilities.
Following the transaction, PayTabs’ annual payment processing volumes are expected to exceed 40.84 billion, increasing its operational scale and reinforcing its role in the region’s evolving payments landscape.
The deal comes amid growing demand for localised payment infrastructure and digital commerce solutions across MENA, driving increased consolidation among both regional FinTech firms and global payments providers.
