Paysend

Paysend, a FinTech firm, has partnered with TelevisaUnivision, a Spanish-language media network, aimed at deepening financial inclusion across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Through this partnership, Paysend has launched Break Barriers, a campaign that highlights the real stories of people who rely on cross-border payments every day, from construction workers and small business owners to families sending support across borders. The initiative forms part of Paysend’s broader mission to offer simple, secure and affordable money transfers, particularly to underserved and underbanked communities.

The campaign draws on TelevisaUnivision’s extensive reach and cultural relevance within Spanish-speaking audiences. It includes a 30-second film airing on national and local television, branded segments within the well-known morning programme Despierta América, dedicated sports features, and radio placements in key markets. Content will also appear on ViX, the leading Spanish-language streaming service, supported by local community activities and targeted digital efforts to reach audiences at scale.

Latin America continues to be a priority for Paysend as it seeks to expand access to digital financial services in a region where remittance flows exceed $150 billion annually and where over 70% of adults remain underbanked or unbanked. For many, cross-border payments are more than transactions; they represent crucial connections that help fund education, small businesses and daily living.

Ana Paula Rocha, Head of Growth Marketing at Paysend, said, “Latin America is a region that is central to our long-term vision. Working with TelevisaUnivision and continuing to invest in the region allows us to authentically showcase how Paysend is solving the real pain points of cross-border money transfers. With Break Barriers, we wanted to celebrate the 11 million customers who have entrusted us to transform their money transfer experience and create the best possible product for them to send love and support to those who matter most. Sending money digitally is no longer a future trend, it’s a reality. We’re proud to help the community send funds reliably and conveniently from the comfort of their homes.”

By investing in technology and trusted partnerships, the company aims to simplify international money movement and remove the barriers often faced by those relying on traditional remittance channels. Looking ahead, Paysend plans to build on its digital infrastructure and regional partnerships to ensure that secure, transparent and accessible payment solutions reach more communities across the region.
