Paysafe, a global payments platform, has launched a digital wallet under its local brand, PagoEfectivo, in Peru.

Building on its eCash offering, the new PagoEfectivo wallet marks a significant step forward in Peru’s digital payment landscape, providing millions of consumers with a faster, more convenient way to manage and move their money online.

The newly launched digital wallet enables users to instantly load funds, make seamless online purchases, receive immediate payouts from participating merchants, transfer money securely to friends and family, and pay using the trusted CIP code system — all within a single, user-friendly application.

For more than a decade, PagoEfectivo has been the trusted eCash payments partner for Peruvian consumers, empowering them to transact confidently across iGaming, digital goods, travel, and eCommerce. With this evolution into a comprehensive digital wallet, Paysafe is reinforcing its commitment to advancing digital financial inclusion and supporting Peru’s vibrant, growing experiential economy.

Bruce Lowthers, CEO of Paysafe, said, “Consumers in Peru already trust PagoEfectivo as their preferred solution for secure and easy online payments. With our new digital wallet, we are building on this trust and delivering even more convenience, choice, and control. This launch reflects our mission to connect consumers and businesses in dynamic markets with cutting-edge payment experiences that are tailored to local needs.”

Esteban Sarubbi, Vice President and Head of Latin America at Paysafe, said, “Our recent survey showed that 81% of Peruvian consumers would choose a digital wallet from PagoEfectivo, a clear signal that they are ready for this next step. We are proud to deliver a solution that responds directly to how people want to pay today and in the future.”

To bring the brand’s expanded vision to life, PagoEfectivo has named renowned Peruvian actor Carlos Alcántara (‘Cachín’) as its new brand ambassador. Carlos will front the largest nationwide marketing campaign in PagoEfectivo’s history, demonstrating the wallet’s ease of use across TV, digital, outdoor, and out-of-home channels.

Celebrating this milestone, PagoEfectivo invites Lima residents to experience the new payment solution first-hand at the PagoEfectivo Universe, an immersive, interactive space open from July 10 to 26 at Av. Manuel Olguín 249, Santiago de Surco. Visitors can explore the app’s features, play games, meet local celebrities and influencers, win exclusive merchandise, and connect with PagoEfectivo’s beloved mascot, Leo Pagoncio.

The PagoEfectivo wallet is now available for download on Google Play for Android, which serves 86% of Peru’s smartphone users. An iOS version and additional new features are planned for release in the coming months as Paysafe continues to expand its local digital capabilities.

Consumers are encouraged to follow PagoEfectivo on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook to learn more about the wallet, participate in promotions, and unlock exclusive rewards, including VIP experiences with Peru’s top football clubs and cashback offers.

With this launch, Paysafe reaffirms its leadership in advancing digital transformation and financial empowerment across Latin America, setting the stage for future innovations that keep customers at the heart of the payment experience.
