Opetek has launched ARIUS, an artificial intelligence (AI) reasoning platform designed to help institutional trading desks analyse market data, test scenarios and support trading decisions across capital markets.

Varqa Abyaneh, Founder and CEO of Opetek, said: “Trading desks need reasoning that is explainable, auditable and reproducible, not just speed. We built ARIUS to help traders analyse complex market data, make faster decisions and keep the reasoning visible and under human control.”

The platform was introduced for front-office trading teams and was built to generate explainable, auditable and reproducible outputs, enabling traders and quantitative analysts to make faster and more informed decisions while maintaining human oversight.

ARIUS has been piloted by traders and quants at a Tier 1 global investment bank across live foreign exchange (FX) options workflows in New York, London and Singapore. Opetek said it is also preparing a further deployment with another Tier 1 financial institution.

The company said institutional trading desks continue to face challenges from fragmented workflows, increasing volumes of market data, manual analysis and coding, and limited transparency around decision-making processes. ARIUS has been developed to address these issues by combining market data, pricing models, analytics and news within a single reasoning platform.

Through a natural-language interface, users have been able to generate bespoke analysis and code more quickly while reviewing the calculations, methodologies, assumptions and market data behind each output. According to Opetek, this has created an auditable reasoning trail that supports governance requirements without replacing human judgement.

ARIUS has been deployed as a standalone application that integrates with existing market data, analytics and pricing infrastructure, including Refinitiv/LSEG data services and Opetek’s proprietary analytics. While the initial rollout has focused on FX options, the company plans to extend the platform to equities, fixed income, commodities, credit and digital assets.
