OpenAI has partnered with Capco to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across the financial services and energy sectors. Capco, a Wipro company, has joined OpenAI’s Beta Services Partner Program, gaining early access to advanced AI capabilities and support as the two organisations work together to address complex industry challenges.

Under the partnership, Capco will access OpenAI’s latest technology, solution architects, and training resources, while OpenAI will leverage Capco’s long-standing transformation and delivery expertise across regulated industries. The companies said the collaboration is intended to help institutions modernise operations, strengthen compliance, and unlock new avenues for productivity and customer experience.

The agreement reflects growing momentum around AI integration in financial services, where firms face mounting pressure to improve efficiency, monitor regulatory change, and enhance decision-making at scale. Operational resilience and compliance remain key areas of focus, particularly for global banks managing large volumes of policies and jurisdiction-specific requirements.

Capco’s existing work in this space includes Compliance Assist, an AI-driven tool developed by the firm’s AI Lab using OpenAI technology. The solution automatically scans upcoming regulatory updates and identifies required changes to internal processes and documentation. According to Capco, one European retail bank reported an 80% reduction in workload and a 50% reduction in assessment time after deploying the tool.

An early priority of the new partnership will be exploring how OpenAI’s GPT-5 featuring enhanced contextual understanding and fine-tuning capabilities—could further automate compliance and strengthen proactive risk management.

“We are delighted to announce our new services partnership with OpenAI,” said Anne-Marie Rowland, CEO of Capco. “This partnership firmly positions us at the leading edge of AI innovation, allowing us to take our AI offerings to the next level.”

Chris Probert, Partner and Global Head of Data, Analytics & AI at Capco, added, “Opening the way to deeper collaboration with the OpenAI team, this services partnership allows us to pursue our shared vision of building custom AI models and tools that reimagine and accelerate the future evolution of our clients’ businesses.”
