Notarize & Stripe partner to help notaries adapt to COVID-19

Notarize, provider of an online notary platform, has announced that the company has partnered with leading payments platform Stripe to empower notaries with the ability to work online and receive instantaneous payment for completed notarizations.
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in soaring up notarization demands. Notarize has added more than 1,600 notaries to its platform to serve customers safely and securely from the comfort of their home. Through the partnership, Notarize will integrate Stripe Connect, a platform that powers marketplaces by accepting payments from customers and paying out to service providers, to pay notaries on the same day they perform notarization services.
“The novel coronavirus has upended business as usual and left thousands of notaries furloughed or unemployed, unable to reach their clients. By integrating our platform with Stripe Connect, we are giving notaries tools to get back to work, service some of the largest lenders, title companies, and financial institutions, and receive prompt payment. We are grateful to be in position to help notaries from around the country pivot their businesses online, and thrilled they have joined the Notarize platform. Together, we are helping people and businesses complete millions of critical transactions,” said Pat Kinsel, founder and CEO of Notarize.
Individual notaries can link their bank accounts with the Stripe Connect platform for payment. On completion of the transaction, notaries can instantly earn notarial fees that can be withdrawn the same day.
“Stripe is building critical infrastructure to power the economy online and help businesses adapt to unique circumstances. With Stripe Connect, Notarize is helping notaries adapt and get paid instantly online. It’s a vast improvement on waiting a few days to clear a check, but also critical during uncertain times like these where speed is of the essence,” said James Dyett, Head of Product Growth at Stripe.
