Mynt, Nordea partner to launch SME spend management platform
By Vriti Gothi
Mynt a FinTech innovator has partnered with Nordea, to launch a fully integrated business credit card and expense management platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
The solution is scheduled to go live in 2026. Representing over half of Europe’s economic output, SMEs are the backbone of the Nordic economy yet often lack modern, scalable financial tools that match their agility and growth ambitions. This collaboration directly addresses that gap, equipping SMEs with a digital-first, end-to-end spend management ecosystem that reduces friction, enhances control and frees up valuable time.
Combining Mynt’s next-generation spend management infrastructure with Nordea’s extensive reach and trusted brand, the partnership will embed an all-in-one business card and expense automation solution within Nordea’s existing suite of SME services. The platform offers automated receipt handling, real-time spending controls, seamless ERP integration and complete accounting automation, creating a frictionless experience from onboarding through compliance, reporting and reconciliation.
By automating time-consuming expense workflows, SMEs stand to achieve a dramatic 95% reduction in admin time, transforming a typical expense report from a 30–45 minute task to a process that takes under two minutes. For the average SME, this equates to reclaiming up to 20 hours every month time that can be reinvested in growth, innovation and customer delivery.
Key features include automatic receipt matching to remove manual tracking, granular pre- and post-purchase controls to curb unnecessary spending, real-time spend visibility for enhanced oversight, and one-click ERP syncing to streamline bookkeeping. Together, these capabilities empower SMEs to operate with the same efficiency and financial transparency as larger enterprises, without the associated overhead.
This strategic alliance not only expands Mynt’s footprint already supporting tens of thousands of Nordic businesses but also strengthens Nordea’s position as the region’s leading digital bank for SMEs.
Baltsar Sahlin, CEO and Co-Founder of Mynt, said, “Neobanks and spend management platforms have gained significant momentum in recent years as SMEs demand smarter, more flexible tools to manage their finances. This partnership signals a shift in SME banking. By embedding Mynt’s technology within Nordea’s services, we are redefining how banks can empower their business customers across Europe. Together, we are delivering an efficient, future-ready financial solution that reduces admin, saves time and enables SMEs to focus on what truly matters growth and customer impact.”
The partnership marks Mynt’s first large-scale bank integration and a pivotal milestone in its European expansion roadmap, following its recent $25.8 million Series B funding round led by Vor Capital with participation from Visa.
Through this collaboration, Mynt and Nordea reaffirm their commitment to driving digital transformation, fostering financial innovation and advancing customer-centric banking for SMEs across the Nordic region and beyond.
