MoneyLion, the provider of leading digital finance platform, announced the launch of thematic investment solutions, powered by industry leaders Global X ETFs and Wilshire.

MoneyLion members can now leverage thematic investing to invest in portfolios according to their personal preferences, interests and passions, such as artificial intelligence (AI), clean energy, and social responsibility. The new thematic portfolios are built as packaged solutions to meet various investment interests or preferences of MoneyLion investors and are offered as part of MoneyLion’s fully managed investing offering. Thematic portfolios can be included in the member’s existing investment accounts allowing users to combine multiple strategies in a single account.

“In today’s world, people want to feel like they’re investing in something bigger, something that has the potential to change the world. Our new thematic portfolios put our member’s interests and passions first. We’ve built an incredible managed investment platform for our members, many of whom are first-time investors, and with the launch of thematic investing, we’re allowing our members to further personalize and strengthen their MoneyLion investment accounts based on their personal interests and preferences,” said Dee Choubey, MoneyLion CEO.

At launch, MoneyLion will offer 3 new portfolio themes, powered by Global X ETFs and Wilshire. Each portfolio theme enables members to invest in a selected set of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) aligned to a specific topic, including:

  • Future Innovation: ETFs focused on disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence, autonomous cars and robotics (powered by Global X ETFs)
  • Greater Good: ETFs aligned to companies exhibiting positive environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) characteristics (powered by Wilshire)
  • Earn & Grow: Dividend-paying equity ETFs providing balanced and well-rounded exposures that offer higher yield with growth (powered by Global X ETFs)

While thematic investing is a long-term strategy designed to benefit from long-term structural changes that disrupt and redefine industries, the COVID-19 pandemic has sped up the clock. It acted as an accelerant and market expander for many themes, forcing adoption to a broad audience. Segments, including cloud computing, robotics, and e-commerce, have been major beneficiaries.

The partnership with Global X ETFs is expected to further MoneyLion’s mission to provide members with access to investment solutions used by some of the largest wealth management firms in the country.

Recently, MoneyLion, in partnership with MetaBank & Mastercard, launched RoarMoney.

Founded in 2013, MoneyLion is a leading mobile finance platform that empowers consumers to take control of their financial lives through better products for borrowing, saving, and investing. It uses superior analytics and machine learning-based risk technology to gain a 360-degree view of its users’ personal finances, enabling better underwriting and the development of tailored financial product offers.
