M3 Insurance has selected FinTech company SimplePin to modernise its finance and accounting operations, as insurance intermediaries face rising payment complexity and operational pressure.

Under the agreement, M3 will automate insurance receivables across multiple payment channels, replacing manual processing with real-time capture, posting, and reconciliation. The move is aimed at improving transaction speed, reducing operational friction, and strengthening visibility into cash flow across client, carrier, and partner payments.

Insurance brokerages are increasingly managing higher payment volumes and more complex fund flows, driven by digital distribution, diversified carrier relationships, and heightened regulatory expectations. These dynamics have placed added strain on finance teams to deliver faster closes and accurate reporting without increasing risk.

SimplePin’s platform is designed specifically for insurance environments, automating payment workflows and addressing reconciliation delays that often arise from fragmented systems and legacy processes that struggle to scale.

“When we evaluated SimplePin, a big part of our decision-making process was what would be best for our clients,” said Jamin Friedl, Senior Director of Finance at M3 Insurance. “SimplePin helps us reduce manual work behind the scenes while improving the payment experience for clients, carriers, and partners. It’s a meaningful step forward as we modernise operations and keep pace with where the industry is headed.”

M3 said the decision was also influenced by a preference for long-term collaboration rather than a conventional vendor relationship, as the firm adapts its operating model to evolving industry requirements.

For SimplePin, the partnership underscores a broader shift in how finance and accounting functions are being retooled across the insurance sector to handle growing payment complexity without expanding manual workloads.

“Finance and accounting teams should not have to rely on manual processes to keep up with today’s payment complexity,” said Metod Topolnik, Chief Executive of SimplePin. “M3’s approach to modernisation and partnership reflects where the industry is heading, and we’re proud to support their team with technology that improves efficiency, visibility, and the experience for everyone involved.”

The deployment highlights how insurance brokers are increasingly turning to specialised FinTech platforms to modernise core financial operations, as automation and real-time visibility become central to maintaining scale, compliance, and client experience.
