Lloyds Banking Group, Lumio, Personal Finance, Money Management App, Couples Finance, Household Finance, Expense Tracking, Budgeting, FinTech, UKLloyds has announced a new partnership with Lumio, the UK-based money management app, aimed at simplifying how people manage shared finances. The collaboration reflects Lloyds’ continued investment in tools that meet the evolving financial needs of households, particularly those navigating joint expenses and shared budgeting.

The initiative will see a selected group of Lloyds customers, who currently manage bills jointly, invited to trial Lumio Couples Pro—the app’s premium service—free of charge between May and August. The offer, typically priced at £39.99 annually, is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Designed to reduce the friction of managing shared money, Lumio enables users, whether couples, housemates, or family members, to consolidate their financial activities into a shared digital space. The platform allows users to track spending, automatically split bills, and set joint savings goals, while maintaining individual account privacy.

“Lumio offers an easy way to manage money together, making everyday financial tasks stress-free for people who need to do this together—whether that be couples, siblings or flatmates,” said Tamara van den Ban, Customer Propositions Director at Lloyds. “We believe that collaboration is key to delivering exceptional services and enhancing our capabilities, and we are excited for what our partnership with Lumio will bring to better address our customers’ needs.”

Lumio currently supports over 40,000 couples who use the platform to gain visibility into their shared spending and track balances in real-time. One of its notable features is an IOU tracker that automatically records who paid for what, reducing the need for manual calculations or financial guesswork, which is often a source of tension in shared living arrangements.

“Modern couples have fallen into an account gap,” said Charlie Richardson, Founder of Lumio. “Lumio provides these couples with a solution that makes it easier for them to spend independently but retain financial clarity and alignment as a couple.”

The partnership signals a broader shift in how financial institutions are collaborating with FinTechs to offer targeted, user-centric solutions that mirror the complexity of modern financial lives. For Lloyds, it’s a step towards more flexible, inclusive tools that meet customers where they are—whether managing a household, living with friends, or navigating financial partnerships outside of traditional joint accounts.
