Klarna price comparison toolKlarna is launching a price comparison tool in the UK and the Nordics to help consumers assess prices across thousands of retailers and get cost-effective deals.

The tool will also allow consumers to filter their search by colour, size, features, customer ratings, store availability, and shipping options.

Through the search and compare tool, Klarna hopes to unlock a new revenue stream by providing consumers with an alternative to Google or Amazon as a starting point for their online shopping journeys.

By comparing thousands of retailers, the tool provides a list of items in the order of price. It also indicates if the price of any item has fluctuated, helping consumers decide whether to purchase the product immediately or wait to get the best deal.

Klarna’s search function has also been integrated into a new panel in Klarna’s in-app browser for the benefit of shoppers browsing a product page. A panel will show consumers every information about the product they wish to purchase, including whether retailers are offering a better price or the ratings attached to products. At check-out, a pop-up panel will automatically look for and apply available coupons to further discount the price of their chosen products.

Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Cofounder and CEO, Klarna, said, “For Klarna, today’s launch is a major milestone in our evolution from a payment network to a single shopping destination that covers everything from inspiring product discovery through to delivery tracking, digital receipts, and seamless returns.”

The tool is available and comes just ahead of both Black Friday and the holiday season which often sees an uptick in online shopping. Following its launch in the US last month, the search and compare tool is now available to Klarna App users in the UK, Sweden, and Denmark.
