The membership has enabled Intellect Design Arena to offer its AI-first technology platforms to BSA members, supporting their digital transformation initiatives while preserving their community-focused banking models.
The company said it has introduced its eMACH.ai composable open finance platform and Purple Fabric, an open business impact artificial intelligence platform, to help financial institutions modernise operations, improve customer experiences and enhance decision-making. The platforms are designed to support mortgage and lending operations, digital banking services and enterprise-wide intelligence while allowing institutions to modernise at their own pace.
According to the company, UK building societies account for nearly 30% of the country’s outstanding mortgage balances and continue to play a significant role in home ownership and community banking. Intellect said the partnership has reflected its focus on supporting member-owned financial institutions with technology that balances innovation with relationship-led banking.
The Building Societies Association represents UK building societies as well as a number of credit unions and other mutual financial organisations. Through the new membership, Intellect Design Arena has planned to work more closely with the sector as institutions continue investing in digital transformation and AI-enabled banking capabilities.
Intellect said the collaboration has reinforced its commitment to the UK market by providing technology that supports modernisation while helping mutual financial institutions maintain their member-first approach. The company has aimed to help building societies and other mutual lenders enhance operational resilience and deliver digital banking services that meet evolving customer expectations while supporting long-term growth.
