Ingenico has introduced its next-generation AXIUM payment device family alongside Ingenico 360, a unified cloud platform aimed at standardising and simplifying enterprise-scale payment operations across global markets.

Announced at the company’s annual Paytech 2026 conference, the combined launch reflects a strategic effort to integrate hardware and cloud services into a single payment ecosystem. The move comes as merchants and acquirers face increasing pressure to modernise infrastructure, manage distributed device estates, and comply with evolving security and regulatory standards.

The new AXIUM portfolio is built on a common architecture spanning mobile, countertop, multilane, self-service, PIN pad and SoftPOS form factors. All devices run Android 14 and are certified to PCI PTS v7 standards, positioning the range to meet current global security requirements while allowing field upgrades to future Android versions.

Ingenico said the unified architecture is designed to streamline certification processes and lifecycle management across diverse deployment environments. The devices also incorporate support for digital identity, stablecoin acceptance, loyalty integrations and digital receipts, alongside redesigned user interfaces featuring secondary displays, LED guidance and integrated audio and haptic feedback.

“The excitement around our next-gen AXIUM range, especially the flagship DX8, shows how strongly customers value devices that combine great design with true enterprise strength,” said Floris de Kort, Chief Executive Officer at Ingenico. “With Ingenico 360, we’re giving them a secure, scalable platform that lets them evolve their payment experiences with more speed and confidence as the future of payments accelerates.”

The AXIUM hardware launch is closely linked to Ingenico 360, a cloud-native platform that integrates device management, transaction services, POS connectivity, merchant tools, data and analytics, digital receipts and developer capabilities within a single architecture. Common data services are designed to provide operational visibility across large device estates, supporting real-time monitoring, remote management and predictive issue resolution.

Ingenico 360 is now live across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, building on the company’s global installed base of tens of millions of managed payment devices. Its modular structure allows banks, acquirers and merchants to adopt services incrementally without redesigning existing systems.

Both the devices and the cloud platform are developed and managed in-house by Ingenico’s engineering teams in France. The company said full ownership of the hardware, software and cloud stack is intended to support intellectual property protection, platform continuity and responsiveness to changing regulatory and security requirements.

The launch reflects broader industry trends toward platform consolidation in payments, where integrated hardware-software ecosystems are increasingly seen as critical to supporting new payment methods, digital identity frameworks and compliance mandates across multiple jurisdictions.
