Hinckley & Rugby partners with SBS to roll out integrated mobile app
By Gloria Methri
Hinckley and Rugby Building Society (H&R) has deepened its partnership with SBS to roll out a fully integrated mobile banking app designed to enhance member engagement and digital convenience.
The launch marks the culmination of a strategic, multi-phase transformation that began in late 2022. SBS supported H&R through a major core system upgrade, a migration to cloud infrastructure, and the rollout of both a member savings portal and a broker portal—all aligned with H&R’s refreshed brand identity revealed in 2024.
The new mobile app empowers H&R’s 50,000+ members with self-service capabilities. It enables them to manage savings and mortgage accounts, make deposits, and view statements, all within an intuitive, secure interface.
As part of its long-term collaboration with SBS, Hinckley and Rugby will benefit from continuous innovation, with ongoing feature enhancements planned to further elevate the member experience.
“We are looking forward to working with SBS to see how we can continue to enhance the user journey further and evolve the digitisation program for the benefit of our members,” said Barry Carter, CEO, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society. “The latest development in our partnership with Hinckley & Rugby establishes a foundation for delivering class-leading mobile engagement experiences to their members, ensuring they remain a central part of their community for many years ahead,” said Jonathan Davis, General Manager, UK Lending at SBS.
A top 20 society, Hinckley & Rugby has total assets of more than £823 million and over 50,000 savers. In addition, it has over 7,000 borrowers who are also benefiting from the Society’s success. The Society provides an extensive range of competitive savings accounts and mortgage schemes.
