Grant Thornton UK has selected Fenergo to streamline its client onboarding and due diligence processes through the deployment of an AI-powered client lifecycle management (CLM) platform.

The initiative aims to centralise onboarding, know-your-customer (KYC) checks and engagement acceptance into a unified workflow. The platform is expected to help the firm standardise compliance processes while reducing the time required to onboard new clients.

Grant Thornton, which provides audit, tax and advisory services, is implementing Fenergo’s CLM system to manage regulatory checks and risk assessments more consistently across its operations. By consolidating KYC, client due diligence and compliance activities within a single platform, the firm expects to eliminate significant manual effort and improve operational efficiency.

According to the company, the new system will automate several stages of onboarding, enabling teams to spend less time on administrative processes and more on advisory work. The change is also intended to accelerate the start of client engagements by simplifying documentation and verification procedures.

“Efficiency, quality and compliance are fundamental to delivering exceptional service to our clients. Fenergo’s unified platform will help us optimise the onboarding experience, reducing time and supporting regulatory readiness across our business; all underpinned by the company’s proven track record and deep expertise in this space,” said Fiona Baldwin, Chief Operating Officer, Grant Thornton UK.

The agreement also reflects Fenergo’s continued expansion beyond banking into the professional services sector, where firms face increasing scrutiny around anti-money laundering (AML) controls and client due diligence.

Ruth Ormsby, Managing Director, EMEA, Fenergo, commented, “We are proud to partner with Grant Thornton UK as they reimagine their operating model for client onboarding, due diligence and engagement acceptance. Our mission is to empower users to focus on their most critical business priorities, gaining a competitive advantage through efficiency and personalised client experience. By leveraging AI, we aim to streamline workflows, remove waste and drive impactful outcomes.  Grant Thornton’s adoption underscores our strategic growth in the professional services sector and the strength of our AI-powered CLM platform.”

The move highlights a broader trend among professional services firms adopting automation and AI-driven compliance tools as regulatory obligations intensify and firms seek to improve efficiency while maintaining robust risk controls.
