Google taps Yepily to power bank account verification in Europe
By Vriti Gothi

Yapily has partnered with Google to enable the rollout of Google’s bank account verification service for business customers across Europe. The partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing digital finance, combining Yapily’s secure, API-driven connectivity with Google’s innovative financial technology to deliver a seamless, fast, and trusted verification experience for businesses.
The announcement comes at a pivotal time for open banking in Europe, as adoption continues to accelerate across markets. In the UK alone, open banking payments have surged to nearly 30 million per month, with almost one in four adults and SMEs now using the technology. The sector is valued at more than $5.35 billion and growing at over 70% year-on-year, contributing to the creation of nearly 5,000 new jobs. Across Europe, open banking accounted for 17% of total eCommerce transaction value in 2024, while the number of users has risen to 63.8 million, a five-fold increase since 2020 in a global market projected to grow by a further 427% by 2029.
Yapily has been at the centre of this transformation, recently achieving profitability, recording strong revenue growth over the past nine months, and expanding its partner ecosystem with names such as Adyen and Allica Bank, alongside long-standing collaborations with Intuit QuickBooks, Pleo, Zilch, and Ant Group. Yapily’s open banking platform enables connections to over 2,000 banks in 19 markets across the UK and Europe, supporting a broad range of use cases, from instant account-to-account payments and Variable Recurring Payments (VRPs) to data insights, transaction categorisation, and real-time cash flow management tools for both retail and SME customers.
By supporting Google’s bank account verification services, Yapily continues to advance its mission to make financial services more inclusive, secure, and efficient. The collaboration underscores both companies’ shared commitment to building a customer-centric financial ecosystem grounded in transparency, innovation, and trust.
Stefano Vaccino, Founder and CEO of Yapily, said, “I’m extremely proud that Google is working with Yapily to help deliver Google’s bank account verification services for business customers in Europe. With open banking adoption predicted to grow significantly in the next few years, I’m excited to see what the future of this strategic collaboration holds.”
