Garanti BBVA Romania, Allevo, FinTP-Instant, FinTech, Real-Time RON Payment Transfers, Romania, Europe Garanti BBVA Romania has successfully integrated FinTP-Instant, the instant payments solution developed by Allevo, enabling the bank to join Romania’s national Instant Payments service operated by TransFonD. The implementation allows Garanti BBVA to offer its customers real-time RON transfers, available 24/7/365.

The Instant Payments service facilitates near-instant fund transfers between participating institutions, with transaction limits set at 10,000 RON per payment and up to 49,999.99 RON for collections. Payments are processed within seconds, supporting the growing demand for speed, convenience, and around-the-clock financial services.

“We are happy to offer our customers the opportunity to make Instant Payments in lei, in real time, by developing a project in partnership with Allevo, the provider of the FinTP-Instant solution,” said Tolga Banyocu, Deputy General Manager, Client Solutions Area, Garanti BBVA. “This service is part of Garanti BBVA Romania’s broader strategy oriented towards a smart, seamless, and human-centric digital banking experience.”

FinTP-Instant, a feature of Allevo’s broader FinTP platform, ensures compliance with TransFonD’s scheme rules while minimising impact on existing banking infrastructure. The solution offers seamless integration with core banking systems and is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPLv3), reinforcing Allevo’s commitment to transparency and collaboration.

FinTP is designed to facilitate straight-through processing (STP) across various payment networks, including SWIFT, TransFonD, and the Eurosystem. Key functionalities include:

  • Automation of complex transaction flows
  • Multi-format and standard message processing
  • Real-time validation and reconciliation
  • Transaction resilience and regulatory compliance tools

“We are proud that Garanti BBVA chose FinTP-Instant to process RON instant payments,” said Sorina Bera, CEO of Allevo. “The bank becomes one of the players who choose to connect to the service offered by TransFonD by implementing FinTP-Instant. We thank the team at Garanti BBVA for the trust invested in Allevo, which led to a successful and swift implementation.”

The deployment of FinTP-Instant positions Garanti BBVA Romania among a growing group of financial institutions embracing real-time infrastructure as a strategic imperative. As instant payments continue to evolve into a standard expectation among retail and business customers alike, solutions such as FinTP-Instant are playing a key role in modernising the Romanian payments landscape.
