Royal Park Partners has appointed FinTech specialist Vaggelis Makris as senior director to broaden the firm’s global offering.

The appointment follows a successful year of growth for the company, during which it oversaw $1 billion worth of transactions across 15 deals, grew its global leadership team, and doubled its revenue for the second consecutive year. The company is accelerating its international presence, with recent transactions across the US, Germany, and South Africa, and deepening its pool of global FinTech advisory talent.

Makris brings with him 20+ years of deal experience in financial technology as an investment banker and investor. He offers client insight from prior sell-side (Credit Suisse FIG investment banking) and buy-side roles, as a former strategic investor at HSBC and former PE/VC investor at Fosun and Mouro Capital.

In his new role, Vaggelis will deliver strategic positioning and deal structuring guidance to elevate Royal Park Partners’ position as an M&A and capital raising advisor.  The firm has 90+ years of combined FinTech advisory experience built across global advisors, VC funds, and investment banks, with insight into the global FinTech landscape from its offices in London and New York.

Aman Behzad, Managing Partner, and Founder said, “I am thrilled to welcome Vaggelis to our senior leadership team as we celebrate another record year of deal-making and embark on another period of strong growth for our firm. Beyond his deal track record, our clients will benefit from his unparalleled investment know-how as we continue to deliver strategic positioning and deal structuring guidance.”

Vaggelis Makris, Senior Director, added, “I am excited to join the team at Royal Park Partners as the business continues to successfully set a new quality benchmark and fresh approach in the global fintech advisory space. Aman and the senior leadership team share the vision to empower high-quality FinTech companies and help them scale, and I’m proud to join them at this incredible time of growth.”
