Federal Bank has introduced OneTag FASTag Portability, a new feature that allows customers to transfer their FASTag issuer relationship to the bank without replacing the physical FASTag attached to their vehicle.

With the launch, Federal Bank joins a select group of issuer banks offering FASTag Portability, enabling users to migrate their FASTag accounts while continuing to use their existing tags. The initiative is aimed at simplifying customer onboarding and enhancing convenience in the digital mobility ecosystem.

The portability process has been designed as a fully digital journey. Customers can initiate the transfer through the RajmargYatra application by entering their vehicle registration number, completing OTP authentication, and providing consent for portability.

Once the request is processed, customers can complete the migration through the Federal Bank FASTag portal within 72 hours and begin managing their FASTag account with the bank.

A key feature of the service is that customers are not required to remove, replace, or reinstall their existing FASTag. The physical tag remains affixed to the vehicle, ensuring a frictionless transition to Federal Bank.

Currently, the facility is available for Vehicle Class 4 (VC4), which includes cars, jeeps, and vans. To qualify for portability, the FASTag must be active, linked to an updated vehicle number, free from active disputes, and should not have been ported previously.

The bank expects the offering to broaden its addressable customer base by attracting FASTag users currently associated with other issuer banks. The move is also expected to strengthen Federal Bank’s position in digital payments and mobility services, as it continues to expand customer-centric digital solutions.
