FastSpring integrates UPI to boost cross-border SaaS sales
By Vriti Gothi

FastSpring, a merchant of record (MoR) platform for global SaaS and software companies, has integrated India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) through its partnership with EBANX, the global FinTech company specialising in local payment solutions for high-growth markets.
The launch marks a significant milestone in FastSpring’s mission to empower digital businesses with localised, customer-first payment experiences while enabling them to expand seamlessly into dynamic economies worldwide. By adding UPI, India’s most widely used digital payment method, FastSpring further strengthens its ability to deliver secure, frictionless, and conversion-optimised checkout for global software sellers.
According to Payments and Commerce Market Intelligence (PCMI) data, featured in EBANX’s Beyond Borders 2025 study, UPI accounts for 55% of all digital transactions in India, underscoring its central role in the nation’s payment ecosystem. The integration will allow SaaS and software companies selling through FastSpring to offer Indian customers a seamless, trusted, and familiar checkout journey, an essential factor in driving cross-border digital commerce.
“India is one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the world, and localising checkout experiences is key to success there,” said Jeremy Waxman, Vice President of Payment Operations at FastSpring. “Adding UPI through our partnership with EBANX is a major step forward for our customers selling into India. It’s part of our broader commitment to help software companies maximise conversions and revenue globally.”
Rashmi Satpute, Country Director of India at EBANX, said, “FastSpring is helping software sellers scale globally with locally optimised payments. By enabling UPI, they’re empowering their customers to reach one of the largest and most dynamic digital economies in the world. We’re proud to partner with them on this expansion, which reinforces EBANX’s philosophy that localised payments can truly help global businesses grow faster.”
From today, FastSpring sellers can enable UPI directly from their existing FastSpring accounts, with no additional technical implementation required. The payment method is fully integrated into FastSpring’s comprehensive platform, which also includes global payments, tax compliance, fraud protection, subscription management, and more.
The addition of UPI forms part of FastSpring’s Spring 2025 product release, which expands support for emerging markets with new local payment methods such as Hipercard and Elo in Brazil. The move builds on FastSpring’s earlier integration of Pix Brazil’s instant payment system via EBANX, which has already enhanced localised digital commerce experiences for Brazilian consumers.
