Intellect powers Faisal Islamic Bank’s eMACH.ai launch in Egypt
By Vriti Gothi
Intellect Design has implemented its eMACH.ai Digital Engagement Platform (DEP) at Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt (FIBE) to improve Egypt’s digital banking landscape.
The move reflects FIBE’s ambition to modernise customer experiences, streamline operations and advance its AI-driven transformation strategy. By deploying the eMACH.ai DEP, the bank aims to transition from legacy systems to a unified, digital-first banking model centred on customer needs and aligned with its founding vision: to be the preferred provider of Islamic banking services while pursuing sustainable growth and strengthening its regional and international standing.
Developed in collaboration with Intellect, the eMACH.ai DEP is built on a flexible, composable architecture that combines Events, Microservices, APIs, Cloud, Headless structures and embedded AI. This technology enables FIBE to deliver a seamless, contextual customer journey, enhancing interactions from onboarding and engagement to long-term retention through both self-service and assisted channels.
Recognising the growing demand for secure, convenient and sustainable banking, the new platform offers a consistent digital experience across mobile and online banking, allowing customers to start and resume tasks on different devices. Processes such as onboarding have been fully digitised, cutting the time required to just three minutes while also reducing the bank’s environmental footprint by limiting paper use and branch visits. The platform further supports customer engagement with AI-powered chatbots, social banking integration and an Arabic-first, inclusive user experience to encourage widespread adoption.
Operational efficiency has also been strengthened through the digitisation of high-volume customer interactions and back-office workflows, laying the groundwork for future service expansion. While the immediate focus is on the retail segment, the solution is designed to scale across FIBE’s SME and corporate banking services, supporting end-to-end digital interaction for businesses and institutions.
Abd Elhamid Mohamed Abu Musa, Governor of Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, said,
“At Faisal Islamic Bank, we aim to serve with integrity, innovation and a customer-first mindset. Partnering with Intellect has empowered us to deliver a truly modern, Shariah-compliant digital experience. This transformation strengthens our commitment to our customers, aligns with our sustainability goals, and reaffirms our position as the leader in Islamic banking in Egypt.”
Rajesh Saxena, CEO of Intellect Consumer Banking at Intellect Design Arena, said,
“Digital transformation today transcends mere modernisation. It demands a visionary leap to integrate cultural nuance, customer empathy and technological agility into every interaction. Partnering with Faisal Islamic Bank, we’ve created a truly customer-centric experience. With eMACH.ai DEP, FIBE is poised to outpace legacy constraints, deliver personalised, real-time engagement and set a new standard for Islamic retail banking. This is a partnership built on shared vision and long-term impact, exemplifying how strategic vision, agility and technology convergence can transform banking from the ground up.”
Faisal Islamic Bank’s latest implementation underlines its commitment to embedding AI-driven innovation at the heart of its operations, ensuring that its services continue to evolve in line with changing customer expectations and the wider digital transformation of the region’s financial sector.
