Dapio, Tap To PayLondon-based PayTech Dapio has launched a payments application for small businesses and sellers across the UK. The app, named ‘Tap to Pay’ turns Android smartphones into card readers without the need for extra hardware.

Dapio helps small businesses securely accept contactless card and e-wallet payments, with just one tap on the back of any NFC-enabled Android phone. The Tap to Pay software is also available for partners to integrate into their own Android applications as a new payment option for their business customers.

“Dapio Tap to Pay is available as a stand-alone, or complimentary payment option for like-minded, future-thinking businesses,” said Andrew Ivashev, Dapio’s Product and Technology Lead. “Quick and simple integrations for any business looking to leverage the power of Tap to Pay in their own Android applications, through our Software Development Kit (SDK) or App-to-app call-back APIs”

The app works for both large and small businesses as a payment acceptance tool for delivery, transportation, cafes, street fundraisers, or any side hustler who gets paid on the go.

Dapio’s CEO and Co-Founder Kosta Du, said, “The payments landscape is evolving toward a mobile-first mindset, and we believe businesses should have the same opportunity to take payments with their phones, as their customers do when making them. Tap to Pay on Android will unlock safe and secure payment experiences for businesses who want less friction and demand more flexibility from their Point-of-Sale system” said.

According to Dapio, the Tap to Pay app has experienced a tremendous influx of signups since the launching of its waitlist in March, with 54% from the transportation industry—including taxi and delivery drivers — 18% being student side hustlers, and 22% across hospitality.
