Brite Payments has appointed Jan Plasberg, formerly CTO of SOFORT and VP Engineering at Klarna, to its board, highlighting the company’s commitment to technology innovation in support of its upcoming market expansion plans. As a forward-thinking, consumer-oriented instant payments business, Brite Payments is working to build efficient and easy-to-use payment methods that benefit merchants and consumers alike.

Now, the second-generation FinTech is reaffirming the significant importance of the technology they leverage by welcoming Jan Plasberg as the company’s latest board member. The appointment illustrates the company’s strong belief in the benefits of forward-thinking tech applications to meet evolving consumer demands in an increasingly digital landscape.

Jan brings extensive product and engineering experience from senior leadership positions in Skype, Microsoft, Sofort, Klarna and most recently, Trade Republic. His previous experience, particularly as CTO in Sofort and VP Engineering in Klarna, affords him significant expertise in European FinTech, which will be invaluable for Brite’s continued success. Jan joins the Brite Payments board to support the payment pioneer’s continued product launches and ambitious expansion plans.

Speaking on the appointment, Jan Plasberg commented: “When the opportunity arose to join Brite’s board of directors, I knew this wasn’t an opportunity to miss. Brite is an upcoming second-generation FinTech utilising the team’s diverse experience to enhance the customer experience of payments, and with my previous background in product and engineering, I am excited to support the team’s ongoing growth plans and mission to improve the speed and ease of the payment process for users across sectors.”

Commenting on Jan’s arrival, Lena Hackelöer, founder and CEO at Brite Payments, said: “We are all excited to have Jan joining our board and sharing his enthusiasm for the future of payments. Jan has been following Brite since the beginning and has such a fantastic expertise in the payments industry, so I am very pleased to formalise his advice by having him join the board of directors.”

Jan continued: “I have no doubt that I will learn a lot from the Brite team in my new role, and I am really looking forward to collaborating. It is Brite’s impressive growth, the team’s refreshing approach, and the value I can bring through my experience that attracted me to the role, and I’m looking forward to getting started!”

Jan’s appointment to the board follows a year of hypergrowth for the instant payment’s provider, with two significant developments already announced in 2022 and further ambitious plans throughout the year. This year, Brite Payments announced its partnership with SOFORT, allowing merchants to activate Brite’s innovative instant payout solution and disburse funds to consumers within seconds; and it’s ‘Single Sign’ product which rivals credit card use for payments in its speed and convenience.

IBS Intelligence also reported that Brite Payments is poised to significantly switch up monthly paid subscriptions with its new ‘recurring payments’ service launch. The Stockholm-based company is set to significantly improve consumer convenience for subscription-based online businesses with its innovative, customer-first payment technology and provide significant advantages to businesses.
