BOKIS extends partnership with Nets Payment Services

Nets Group, BOKIS, payment partnership, DenmarkPayments and card company BOKIS has entered a new long-term partnership with Nets, part of the Nexi Group, to issue payment cards across Denmark. The new agreement will run until 31 December 2029 and BOKIS member banks will continue to issue and process the domestic card Dankort, and international payment cards through Nets.

The BOKIS co-operative includes domestic banks such as Sydbank, Spar Nord Bank, Arbejdernes Landsbank, and Nykredit Bank, along with 46 local, savings and cooperative banks in Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. Together, these banks represent about 45% of the Danish card payment market.​

Søren Nicolaisen, CEO of National Banks and BOKIS, said, “We are pleased to prolong our collaboration with Nets. In times of a rapidly developing payment market, it is important to us that our member banks can offer their consumers reliable and modern payment solutions in a cost-efficient way.”

Jan Kondrup, CEO of the Association of Local Banks and BOKIS, added, “Nets is a professional business partner that we have had for many years. The agreement is extended by an additional period of five years and is proof of our commitment to enter into long-term agreements which will ensure our members’ security of supply, as well as high-quality digital services and maintenance, including an increased focus on fraud management and dispute services.”

The collaboration covers Dankort and international payment card processing as well as additional services.

Torsten Hagen Jørgensen, Global Head of Issuing Solutions at Nexi Group, said, “We are pleased that BOKIS has chosen to extend our previous agreements on Dankort and international payment card processing. We look forward to providing our extensive digital expertise and modern, flexible, and secure card solutions that will benefit customers of BOKIS banks; all served with local knowledge from our Danish customer team.”

The new agreement will take effect in January 2023.
