Billing Better acquires Homebox platform
By Gloria Methri
Billing Better, the UK-based bills management company, has acquired the utilities comparison and switching service, Homebox. Having worked closely together over the past few years, the two companies plan on developing a comprehensive solution for customers, whilst also allowing further growth in the industry.
The acquisition of Homebox will see founder Hedley Smith assume the role of Chief Technology Officer for the newly formed group. The Homebox brand will be relaunched as a fresh offering in the market, and its current white-labeled utilities comparison service will be integrated into BillingBetter’s new bills management platform.
Jack Ray, founder of Billing Better, said, “We are thrilled to complete this acquisition and expand our offering to home movers. Homebox’s free comparison tool is a great complement to our bills bundle product, providing home movers with the right balance of choice and convenience when setting up their home. Hedley’s experience in PropTech and utilities makes him a valuable addition to our team, and we’re excited to have the Homebox team join us on this journey.”
Hedley Smith, founder of Homebox, added, “After working together for some time, it became clear that we have a shared vision and a strong opportunity to simplify and de-stress people’s lives. Joining forces with Billing Better gives us the resources and expertise to achieve our goals and I am excited to be a part of the next chapter.”
With this acquisition, Billing Better claims its position as one of the top providers of streamlined billing solutions, having witnessed a 100% growth in customer numbers over the past year. The company continues to expand its offerings, ensuring its clients have access to a convenient solution for the management of their bills and utilities.
