Cairo-based Bank NXT has partnered with IBM and Inspire for Solutions Development to modernise its technology stack as part of a broader push toward scalable, cloud-native digital banking.

Under the collaboration, Bank NXT has implemented IBM Instana, IBM Turbonomic, and IBM Cloud Pak solutions to strengthen real-time observability, automate resource optimisation, and improve system integration across its digital banking environment. The initiative aims to enhance platform resilience, minimise downtime, and expedite the delivery of digital services as Egypt’s banking sector advances toward more agile, technology-driven models.

Egyptian banks are increasingly under pressure to modernise legacy systems to support always-on digital channels, open banking connectivity, and collaboration with FinTech partners. Bank NXT’s technology upgrade reflects a wider industry trend toward cloud-native architectures and DevOps-driven operating models that can support rapid innovation while maintaining operational stability.

As part of the transformation, Bank NXT deployed IBM Instana to gain real-time visibility across its digital banking applications, enabling proactive monitoring and quicker issue resolution. IBM Turbonomic has been introduced to automate intelligent resource allocation across hybrid cloud environments, helping optimise IT utilisation and control infrastructure costs as transaction volumes scale.

The bank has also adopted IBM Cloud Pak for Integration and IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, running on Red Hat OpenShift, to consolidate systems and simplify application development and deployment. According to the bank, this has reduced platform complexity and supported a continuous delivery model for new digital services.

“Our collaboration with IBM and Inspire for Solutions Development is a crucial part of the bank’s transformation strategy,” said Tamer Seif, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bank NXT. “By adopting the DevOps model and improving our business automation capabilities, we have enhanced the flexibility of our technology infrastructure. This prepares us to integrate with FinTech companies through an API-driven ecosystem and deliver faster, more responsive services.”

Alongside technology deployment, Bank NXT is investing in workforce upskilling through training programmes focused on observability, automation, integration, and DevOps practices. The bank said this is intended to ensure long-term sustainability of its digital platform and support the continued rollout of new digital banking services across retail and corporate segments.
