Aventum Group has acquired Post & Co as part of its strategy to expand across continental Europe and strengthen its marine insurance business.

The acquisition gives Aventum access to key European markets, including operations in Rotterdam, Groningen, Antwerp and Frankfurt. The deal also expands Aventum’s broker network through Post & Co’s relationships with around 250 brokers across Europe and Asia.

Aventum currently operates across specialty insurance markets in the UK, North America and Asia. The group has been pursuing growth through targeted acquisitions aimed at adding underwriting expertise and strengthening distribution capabilities.

Founded more than a century ago, Post & Co specialises in marine underwriting and claims services. The company brings additional underwriting authority, broker connectivity and marine insurance expertise to Aventum’s existing operations.

Following the acquisition, Post & Co will become part of Aventum’s managing general agent platform, Rokstone, while continuing to operate under its existing leadership structure.

The transaction supports Aventum’s broader strategy of capability-led expansion rather than scale-focused growth. By entering continental Europe through an established marine insurance specialist, the group aims to accelerate regional expansion while maintaining operational continuity.

The deal also creates opportunities for Aventum to broaden its presence in other specialty insurance segments across Europe in the future.

The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation in the global insurance market, where firms are increasingly seeking specialist underwriting capabilities and regional distribution networks to strengthen international growth strategies.
