All Curve refunds to be returned to customers from 9 July
By Robin Amlot
Curve reports all refunds on purchases will now go directly into customers’ Curve Cash account in the app, so they can spend it right away. The company says it is still working on the backend to make it possible to transfer this refund over to the original payment card, but that ‘should be ready very soon’
Previously, on 1 July, Curve had reported that it had successfully migrated away from Wirecard in less than 60 hours and that refunds on returned purchases made after 2pm, 27 June, would be refunded onto the Cash Card in Curve Wallets, as soon as they were processed by merchants.
In a statement, Curve said: “We’ve been working hard to solve this for our customers and I’m pleased to say that, along with the resumption of Go-Back-In-Time (also set to be restored from later today), we should now be able to draw a line under the Wirecard disruption, move forward, and focus on delivering a first class, better banking experience for our customers.”
Full details on the progress Curve has been making on restoring its services may be found in the company’s blog.
Curve was among a number of FinTechs whose services were frozen following a ruling by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority the saw customers’ funds for a few days in a move designed to protect them as the Wirecard debacle played out in Germany. At the time, the FCA said that its primary objective was to protect the interests and money of consumers who use Wirecard.
