The app was first introduced at Singapore’s oldest Ramadan Bazaar in Geylang Serai this February. Participating merchants benefited from zero transaction fees, instant onboarding — with payments accepted within 24 hours — and secure, seamless digital transactions.

Muslim merchants adopting MPLUS Aleta will continue to enjoy no transaction fees for 24 months, helping reduce processing costs, speed up settlements, and boost overall payment security. The initiative lays a strong foundation for expanding digital payments across underserved markets.

Consumers can download the app and scan a dedicated MPLUS Aleta QR code to make payments. The app also offers a one-stop digital marketplace and community hub, featuring Muslim-friendly merchants and businesses catering to the community’s specific needs.

Ryan Gwee, Founder and Group Chairman at Aleta Planet, said, “This MPLUS Aleta app is a step forward in closing the digital payment gap in the Muslim community and being more relevant to their unique needs. Indonesia and Malaysia, as the largest Muslim-majority countries in our region, present a vast opportunity. We are confident that the young generation will take the lead in pioneering digital payments in their communities.”

MPLUS Aleta leverages QR payment technology and Aleta Planet’s proprietary infrastructure to create a closed-loop payment ecosystem. This allows transactions to be processed entirely within AP’s own network, eliminating reliance on traditional external payment systems while delivering enhanced security, privacy, and data protection.

Aleta Planet plans to roll out MPLUS Aleta later this year across Muslim-majority markets such as Indonesia and Malaysia, aiming to drive digital payment adoption and business growth in underserved segments.

Suhaimi Rafdi, CEO of MPLUS Singapore Pte Ltd, the joint-venture company behind the app, said, “We aim to create a win-win ecosystem, benefiting both shoppers and merchants while accelerating the shift towards a cashless economy in Southeast Asia. We are honoured to work with Aleta Planet because they are the FinTech experts in powering cashless payments.”
