Airwallex has launched a new point-of-sale (POS) payments product aimed at unifying online and in-store transactions on a single platform. The solution, Airwallex POS Payments, is now available in the UK, Europe, Hong Kong and Singapore, with expansion plans for the US and Australia underway.

The launch marks Airwallex’s entry into in-person payments, as businesses increasingly seek to reduce fragmentation between their online and offline payment systems. The company said the product enables merchants to manage both channels through a single integration across multiple markets.

Airwallex POS Payments integrates with existing point-of-sale systems, order management platforms and enterprise resource planning tools via APIs and software development kits, allowing businesses to adopt the solution without overhauling their current infrastructure.

The offering also includes SoftPOS capabilities, enabling merchants and platforms to accept in-person payments directly through mobile devices, without the need for dedicated payment hardware.

Airwallex is targeting enterprise retailers and SaaS platforms looking to add in-store payment capabilities alongside their existing digital services. The platform also supports additional features such as payouts, accounts and card issuance.

The move reflects growing demand for unified commerce solutions, as businesses look to streamline operations and deliver more seamless customer payment experiences across channels.
