ACI Worldwide & IRS team up to make payments easier for taxpayersACI Worldwide, a leading global provider of real-time electronic payment and banking solutions, has announced that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is using ACI Payments to allow taxpayers to make cash transactions through a new digital barcode feature.

Taxpayers, upon validation by IRS will obtain a barcode, made possible through ACI and InComm Payments’ VanillaDirect Pay. They can then take the barcode payment token to over 60,000 participating retail agents with the appropriate amount of cash to cover their tax debt and any associated service fees.

“As consumers contend with making payments amid the financial strain caused by the pandemic, offering more and convenient payment options will help taxpayers complete their payments. ACI is committed to providing a wide array of cost-effective payment methods and channels to help the IRS make payments easier for taxpayers,” said Sanjay Gupta, executive vice president, ACI Worldwide.

According to ACI, together with the IRS, it is the first organization to provide this type of cash payment option for taxpayers in the U.S. BY integrating ACI Payments, IRS not only increases the payment options available to taxpayers but makes it easier for these consumers to pay their taxes.

Established in 1975, ACI Worldwide powers electronic payments for more than 6,000 organizations around the world. Through its comprehensive suite of software solutions delivered on customers’ premises, through the public cloud or through ACI’s private cloud, the company provide real-time payment capabilities and enable omnichannel payments experience.
